For Moh Ardiansyah, professional pride stems from contributions that directly benefit the public. A 2014 alumnus of the Economics and Development Studies (IESP) program at Diponegoro University’s Faculty of Economics, he works in the central bank procurement division at Bank Indonesia. His scope of work includes fulfilling requirements for the BI-Fast payment system, procuring paper for currency printing, and sourcing other goods and services essential to the central bank’s operations.
His journey began with a keen interest in understanding the mechanics of the economy and how various segments of society shape the economic landscape. His academic studies reinforced his conviction in this chosen path.
One of his most meaningful experiences was serving as a teaching assistant for Prof. Indah. This role allowed Ardi to hone his skills while broadening his academic horizons; he even participated as a presenter at an international conference in Thailand. His engagement with academia continued even after graduation, as he briefly served as a teaching assistant before moving forward in his career.
In his daily work, Ardi finds the Macroeconomics and Microeconomics courses he took during university to be highly beneficial. Macroeconomics aids him in analyzing economic conditions and inflation, while Microeconomics provides a framework for understanding strategies and decision-making processes. He also emphasizes the importance of econometrics in fostering critical thinking. He believes students must grasp the underlying methods, assumptions, and forecasting processes to conduct independent analyses.
Contributing to the supply of physical currency is a source of pride for him, as it directly facilitates public transactions. He also cites receiving a “Best Commended” award in Asia as a memorable milestone. For Ardi, such achievements go hand-in-hand with maintaining consistency and finding purpose in his work.
Ardi advises students and fresh graduates to approach their job search strategically. He highlights the importance of selecting roles that align with one’s interests and capabilities, leveraging digital platforms, and thoroughly preparing for the selection process. He also views education as a vital process for cultivating the mature mindset needed to navigate the professional world. Ardi encourages students to approach their studies earnestly, take assignments seriously, and actively participate in relevant organizations. His own experiences—such as joining the Economic and Social Issues Study Group (KESMES) and studying alongside lecturers—demonstrate that university life offers abundant opportunities for personal and professional growth. Beyond analytical skills, he emphasizes resilience, adaptability, and spirituality as essential assets for navigating challenges. His journey illustrates how academic knowledge and campus experiences can empower one to contribute effectively to work that serves the needs of the community.
