Academic Transformation through Final Assignment Governance Revitalization, IESP UNDIP Department Holds Capacity Building in Malang

Malang, 17–19 July 2026, the Department of Economics and Development Studies (IESP) Faculty of Economics and Business of Diponegoro University held a Capacity Building activity entitled “Academic Transformation through the Revitalization of Management of Final Project Preparation”. The activity that takes place in this glamping atmosphere becomes a space for lecturers to strengthen synergy, build togetherness, as well as improve the quality of academic governance, especially in the process of preparing student final assignments.

One of the main agendas in the activity is the discussion of young lecturers who become a forum for sharing experiences, ideas, and challenges in the implementation of education and student guidance. Through an open and collaborative discussion atmosphere, lecturers can exchange views on various academic dynamics as well as build closer communication between department members. This activity is expected to be able to strengthen an academic culture that is adaptive, inclusive, and oriented towards improving the quality of learning.

Capacity building is also focused on equalizing perceptions related to the governance of the preparation of final assignments as well as the discussion of technical instructions for thesis writing. The discussion was conducted to build a more uniform understanding of the stages, mechanisms, writing standards, to the process of guiding and completing students’ final assignments. The equalization of perception is an important step for students to obtain consistent direction while supporting the thesis completion process that is more structured, effective, and still meets the set academic quality standards.

Through this activity, the IESP FEB UNDIP Department affirms its commitment to continue to transform and improve academic governance sustainably. The togetherness that is built during the activity is expected not to stop at the capacity building forum, but develops into a spirit of collaboration in carrying out education, research, and service to students. With the spirit to continue to grow and innovate, all lecturers are expected to jointly present an increasingly quality academic process and produce graduates who are superior, adaptive, and able to answer future challenges.
