Madiun – The Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) collaborates with Diponegoro University (Undip) in an effort to encourage the performance of local governments, especially in suppressing the unemployment rate. In the Regional Appreciation Program activities, one of the lecturers of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of Undip, Dr. Jaka Aminata, also plays a role as an assessor, both online and as a field assessor for the Java-Bali region, including in Madiun.
The involvement of academics in this activity is a form of synergy between the world of higher education and the government in formulating evidence-based policies (evidence-based policy). As an assessor, Dr. Jaka Aminata contributes in assessing the performance achievements of local governments, especially in programs that have a direct impact on job creation and strengthening the local economy.
This program focuses on the evaluation of the real achievements of local governments in suppressing unemployment through policy innovation, small industry development, and improving the quality of the workforce. The role of assessors from academics becomes important to ensure that the assessment is carried out objectively, comprehensively, and based on strong analysis, so that it can provide strategic recommendations for future policy improvements.
This activity also shows the commitment of FEB Undip in supporting regional development through scientific contributions and community service. It is hoped that the collaboration between universities and the government will continue to be strengthened to be able to produce more effective policies in improving public welfare and reducing unemployment sustainably.
