The event was attended by Diponegoro University students, academics, and the general public interested in entrepreneurship development and opportunities for further study based on business development.

The event was officially opened by the Head of the Undergraduate Program in Economics, FEB UNDIP, Dr. Jaka Aminata, S.E., M.A. In her remarks, she emphasized that an entrepreneurial spirit is a crucial competency for the younger generation amidst the ever-changing global economic dynamics. She emphasized that universities play a key role not only in producing academically superior graduates but also in developing innovative, adaptive individuals who contribute to job creation and sustainable economic development. The seminar was moderated by Navi’ah Khusniati, S.E., M.Sc., a lecturer in the Undergraduate Program in Economics, FEB UNDIP.

In the first session, participants gained inspiration from Anne Avantie, one of Indonesia’s most inspiring women and a renowned kebaya designer known for her contributions to the fashion industry and social and humanitarian work. Before the discussion began, the committee showed a video profile of Anne Avantie’s life and career, from her struggles building her business to becoming an inspirational figure in Indonesia’s creative industry. During the sharing session, Anne Avantie explained that success in business is not solely determined by formal education, but is more influenced by attitude, networking skills, persistence, and consistency throughout the process. She also emphasized that the most important aspects of building a business are character development, maintaining integrity, and developing a positive business attitude. She believes that if an entrepreneur possesses a strong character and is able to maintain good relationships with others, success and profit will follow over time. Her life motto, “I am blessed to bless,” served as a reflective message that inspired the seminar participants.

The second session featured Buntoro Setiomulyo, Founder of PT Mega Andalan Kalasan (MAK), who shared his career journey as an independent entrepreneur, from his college days to successfully building a leading manufacturing company in Indonesia. In his presentation, he explained the various challenges of building a business from the ground up, the importance of courage to seize opportunities, maintaining product quality, and building commitment and integrity in running a sustainable business. His experience in developing the national manufacturing industry provided participants with real-world insights into the long process of building a business that can survive and thrive.

Meanwhile, in the third session, LPDP Director, Dwi Larso, presented on the LPDP Entrepreneurship Scholarship program, designed to support the development of aspiring Indonesian entrepreneurs through education and strengthening global networks. In his presentation, he explained that the program provides opportunities for young people to continue their studies abroad while simultaneously expanding their entrepreneurial capacity and international collaboration. He also emphasized the important role of entrepreneurs in driving economic growth, innovation, and inclusive development in Indonesia. He stated that future entrepreneurs are required not only to possess business acumen, but also vision, adaptability, and the ability to identify opportunities amidst global economic changes.

The seminar was interactive and received a positive response from participants. The participants’ enthusiasm was evident in the lively discussion and Q&A session with the speakers. Through this activity, the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of Diponegoro University (UNDIP) hopes to foster an entrepreneurial spirit among the younger generation while broadening students’ horizons regarding opportunities for self-development at the international level.

As part of Diponegoro University’s commitment to developing superior human resources, this activity also reflects the fact that university graduates are not only prepared to be skilled economic analysts, but also individuals capable of adapting, innovating, and creating added value for society through entrepreneurship. In line with the spirit of National Education Day, FEB UNDIP continues to encourage the development of a critical and creative young generation capable of driving Indonesia’s future economic development.
