Active Posyandu Movement in Ungaran: Undip Economic Study Program Lecturers Encourage Health Check Awareness for All Ages

Semarang – Lecturers of the S1 Economics Study Program of Diponegoro University (Undip) carried out community service activities at RW 9, Gedanganak, Ungaran, with the theme of strengthening Posyandu services. This activity aims to improve the quality of community-based health services as well as strengthen the role of Posyandu as the spearhead in promotional and preventive efforts at the local level.

In its implementation, the service team emphasized the importance of strengthening the role and involvement of Posyandu cadres in building public awareness. So far, Posyandu is often perceived only for the elderly and toddlers, even though periodic health check-ups are also very important for the young and productive age group. Through the education provided, the public is encouraged to be more proactive in monitoring their health condition from an early age to prevent the risk of disease in the future.

This activity was carried out by a team of lecturers in the S1 Economics Study Program chaired by Deny Cahyadinanto Sanjoko, S.E., M.Ec.Dev with members of Maulana Ghani Yusuf, S.Si., M.E., Wulan Oktabriyantina, S.Pd., M.S.E., and Navi’ah Khusniati, S.E., M.Sc. In addition, this activity also presents speakers from the Public Health Study Program (FKM) of Diponegoro University, namely Dzul Fahmi Afriyanto, S.K.M., M.K.M., who conveyed material related to the importance of early detection of diseases and the implementation of a healthy lifestyle. This cross-scientific collaboration strengthens the substance of activities in improving public health literacy.

Through this activity, it is hoped that Posyandu in RW 9 Gedanganak can be more active and empowered in providing sustainable health services and reaching all levels of society. Synergy between universities and the community becomes a strategic step in creating a healthy and productive society. Let’s start caring about health from now on, because today’s small step determines the quality of life in the future.
